We are looking to recruit Healthcare Assistants with experience working on care packages that are competent with specific clinical tasks. Shift times vary depending on the package you are assigned to and all roles will require competency sign off by our Clinical Team.

As a Healthcare Assistant your role will involve working with patients on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis dependent on the clients needs and you will be responsible for:

  • Provide person-centered support while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
  • Assist with meals, eating, and drinking, following dysphagia (swallowing) management guidelines to ensure safe mealtimes.
  • Support communication using the individual's Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device and Makaton where appropriate.
  • Assist with community access, appointments, recreational activities, or other daily routines as required.
  • Support the safe use of the individual's powered wheelchair and assist with mobility as needed.
  • Build a positive, respectful, and engaging relationship with the individual.
  • Monitor the individual's wellbeing and report any concerns or changes to the appropriate person.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow all relevant care plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with family members and allied health professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality support.

We cannot accept 20 hour VISA candidates and do not provide sponsorship.

Candidate Requirements

Each of our clients have specific healthcare support needs, we are always recruiting and are looking for experience and competency in any of the below:

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities or complex care needs is preferred.
  • Experience with AAC communication devices and/or Makaton is desirable (training may be provided).
  • Knowledge of dysphagia management or willingness to undertake training.
  • Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, compassionate, and committed to providing person-centered care.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
  • Relevant disability supports qualification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Valid driver's license and relevant background checks.
