About the role

Express Care at Home are looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager with a proven track record in complex care to drive rapid growth across Yorkshire, the North West and North East of England.

This role is focused on winning and developing complex care packages through ICBs, Local Authorities, NHS Trusts and community healthcare teams.

As a Senior Business Development Manager within Complex Care, you will play a key role in expanding our nurse-led complex care services, supporting individuals with high acuity needs including neurological conditions, spinal injuries, ventilator care, acquired brain injury and paediatric complex care.

This is a high-impact role for a commercially driven individual who understands commissioning pathways and has the ability to open doors, influence decision makers and convert opportunities into long-term care packages.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Growth

  • Generate new business opportunities with ICBs, Local Authorities and NHS services.
  • Secure new complex care packages and long-term placements.
  • Drive regional revenue growth across Yorkshire, North West and North East England.

Strategic Relationship Building

Develop and maintain strong relationships with:

  • ICB Continuing Healthcare (CHC) teams
  • Local Authority commissioning managers
  • Hospital discharge coordinators
  • Case managers
  • Social workers
  • Community nurses
  • Clinical commissioning teams

Pipeline Development

  • Build and manage a strong referral pipeline for complex care packages.
  • Track opportunities through CRM and structured reporting.
  • Convert clinical assessments and referrals into commissioned packages.

Market Expansion

  • Identify new market opportunities within the complex care sector.
  • Position the organisation as a trusted provider for high acuity community care.
  • Attend industry networking events, healthcare forums and commissioning meetings.

Package Mobilisation

  • Work closely with clinical and operations teams to ensure the successful mobilisation of new packages.
  • Support the assessment and onboarding process for new service users.

Key Performance Indicators

  • New package revenue secured
  • Number of new commissioning relationships
  • Pipeline value and conversion rate
  • Package mobilisation success
  • Regional growth targets achieved

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for a well-connected, results-driven professional already working within complex care or community healthcare services, who understands the commissioning landscape and has the ability to generate and win high-value care packages.

Essential Experience

  • 3+ years business development experience in complex care or specialist healthcare services
  • Proven success winning complex care packages from ICBs and Local Authorities
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Continuing Healthcare (CHC)
    • Local Authority funding pathways
    • Community complex care delivery
  • Established professional network within Yorkshire, North West or North East healthcare markets
  • Experience working with clinical teams to mobilise high acuity packages

 Desirable Experience

  • Background within complex care providers, specialist homecare or healthcare staffing
  • Experience supporting:
    • Brain injury
    • Spinal injury
    • Tracheostomy / ventilated care
    • Paediatric complex care
    • Learning disability and autism packages
